  PREFACE

  WHAT YOU HOLD in your hand is a book that has been conceived from the mind of God, revealed through several prophetic voices, and communicated to me in the form of a prophecy. As I have undertaken writing this book, I had to reflect on the many personal trials and tribulations that got me to this point of putting to pen and paper what I have encountered, experienced, learned, and discovered through twenty years in the prophetic ministry. Through my prophetic journey, I have come to the realization that there will always be a hunger and thirst for more of God, the supernatural, His presence, voice, and desire to speak as His spiritual representatives in the earth.

  The purpose of me writing this book was to answer and correct m
any unspoken questions and teachings by cessationist Pentecostal believers and teachers who had a limited understanding, revelation, paradigm, and belief systems on the restoration of modern-day apostles, prophets, and prophecy in the church. (See Ephesians 4:11–13.) Furthermore, burning in my heart was God’s leading to write on the prophetic function in born-again and Spirit-filled believers. Generally speaking, God revealed this to me through a holy discontentment and dissatisfaction of how the prophetic ministry, prophecy, and prophets were misrepresented today in the church and world. It was my decision to bring clarity, understanding, and simplicity to the misunderstood gift of prophecy. I see countless tongues-speaking believers lack the faith required to prophesy what’s on God’s heart and mind.

  Most charismatic Christian believers and leaders throughout their walk with the Lord have trouble at times hearing the voice of God, question whether prophecy is still a valid gift in today’s world, and struggle with believing that through the Holy Spirit, God wants to speak through them. As a result, they are likely to experience discouragement, fear, intimidation, doubt, frustration, and low self-esteem. The primary emphasis of this book is to draw the church’s attention to God’s perspective on modern-day prophets, prophecy, and the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit and to help each individual determine his or her God-given birthright, assignment, and purpose as a Spirit-filled, born-again believer. At this same time, this book offers practical, instructional, and comprehensive teaching to those who are born, called, and desire to prophesy according to 1 Corinthians 14:1 and speak as God’s ambassadorial voice in the earth with power, authority, faith, love, boldness, and confidence in Christ.

It will also help believers understand how the gift of prophecy, when operated correctly, can birth perpetual movements of the Spirit and transform whole cities, nations, territories, and present and future generations.
